In many spiritual traditions, the body has seven main energy centres, or chakras, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each has its own colour and its own crystals, and many people use chakra crystals to bring a sense of balance to their energy, in meditation, yoga or everyday wear.

The crystals traditionally linked to each chakra follow its colour: Black Tourmaline or Hematite for the root, Carnelian for the sacral, Citrine for the solar plexus, Rose Quartz or Green Aventurine for the heart, Amazonite for the throat, Amethyst for the third eye and Clear Quartz for the crown.
